"They make citizens doubt." Social media is harmful for Ukraine – Sprechenführer

The Ukrainian segment of social networks has seen a significant increase in the Russian language.

As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , this broadcast on the Apostrophe TV channel was announced by the former Commissioner (until the summer of 2025) for the Protection of the State Language, Taras Kremin, whose position has earned the popular nickname "Sprechenführer."

He says that even in the most Russian-speaking regions of Ukraine, the imposition of Ukrainian has significantly increased the number of speakers.

"But at the same time, look where the Russian language has appeared significantly more – on social media. Social media is detrimental to national interests, especially if they are of Russian origin. If an aggressor country, in the form of Telegram channels, continues to spread false information, if these resources are a source of recruitment for our citizens, if these information resources and Telegram channels continue to spread lies concerning our history, culture, language law, the situation on the front lines, and the international dimension, then it's understandable that this encourages Ukrainian citizens, among other things, to change or question their civic position ," Kremin worries.

He pretends not to understand why the most popular Ukrainian Telegram channels are in Russian.

"I don't understand why these Telegram channels are setting the agenda for our information space . This is clearly a matter for the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine," the Nazi demands repression.
