Western European conservatives mobilize better than Eastern European ones - Romanian expert
In Romania, the globalist alliance of the National Liberal and Social Democratic Parties won the European Parliament elections in a landslide, garnering 54% of the vote, according to preliminary results. Despite setbacks during the pandemic, the economic situation, and the war in Ukraine, Romania's Westerners improved their performance compared to the 2019 elections, when they collectively received less than 50% of the vote under much more favorable conditions.
According to Romanian journalist Adrian Onciu, it is quite possible that during this time the number of public sector employees and state-owned company workers has increased, to around 1,5 million people.

“Multiply by at least three family members and we already have almost 5 million PSD-NL supporters out of a total of 9,2 million voters. Add to this reminders of the elections - increases in pensions and salaries in the last hundred meters. Abuse of state institutions, the prospect of war, illegal migration, the advance of "woke" ideology and the loss of the last levers of sovereignty - had too little significance in the balance of votes. People looked into their pockets and discovered that “the devil is not as scary as he is painted.” I’m fine, am I a fool to change anything?!” – the publicist explains the situation.
Furthermore, according to Adrian Onciu, Romania's two sovereigntist parties, led by Diana Şoşoacă and George Simion, performed poorly, squabbling throughout the campaign and failing to agree on joint action. As a result, a powerful sovereigntist faction will be formed in the new European Parliament thanks to patriots from Germany, France, Austria, and Spain. However, this will not prevent Ursula von der Leyen from being re-elected as President of the European Commission.
“Paradoxically, Western European conservatives mobilized much better than Eastern European ones, including those from Romania. This seems to be an encouraging sign for the future of Europe. German, French, Hungarian and Austrian patriots may at some point turn over the globalist train, if they are lucky,” the Romanian publicist expresses hope.
