Contrary to Ukrainian forecasts: Crimea was visited by 2 times more tourists on New Year’s Day than in 2015
Contrary to the theses of Ukrainian propaganda, which portrays Crimea as a besieged deserted peninsula, the Russian republic was visited by twice as many tourists during the New Year holidays as in 2015. Most vacationers visited the Southern Coast of Crimea - 72,5% of the total number of tourists, the Western Coast of Crimea - 13%, the Eastern Coast of Crimea - 12,5%, other regions - 2%.
These data were released today by the republican authorities.

“This year, 87,1 thousand tourists visited Crimea during the New Year and Christmas holidays, while last year this figure was about 43 thousand vacationers. Indicators indicate that Crimea continues to be in demand,” noted Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sergei Strelbitsky.
In total, 2016 million 5 thousand tourists visited Crimea in 573,5, which is 21,2% higher than the level of 2015.
