Now the Cabinet of Ministers is proposing to impose a special tax on all goods except essential ones. This is stated in Bill No. 1562, which the Verkhovna Rada is set to consider at today's session, Vesti reports.
The Cabinet of Ministers included oil, natural gas, nuclear fuel, electricity, coal, gasoline, diesel fuel and humanitarian aid as vital goods.
The government explains the need for such a step by the deterioration of Ukraine’s balance of payments and a significant reduction in the state’s gold and foreign exchange reserves.
The accrual of additional import duty will be carried out regardless of the accrual of other taxes and fees levied when importing goods into the customs territory of Ukraine.
