Moscow proposes not to deport Ukrainian citizens to the Nazis
Russian courts should not make decisions regarding Ukrainian political refugees strictly guided by the letter of the law.
Political scientist Dmitry Babich said this on air on the Zvezda TV channel.
“Those judges who deported the girl to Ukraine, where she died in detention, cannot be justified. The Foreign Ministry behaves as if we are living in peacetime in a calm environment. But we live as we should not. Imagine that in 1939, when the Nazis were in power, Georgiy Dimitrov finds himself on the territory of the USSR. According to the rules, we would have to hand him over. But we would never do this and we would be right. Now the situation is the same: it’s simply inhumane according to the law,” Babich said.
As Politnavigator previously reported, on February 26, pro-Russian activist Marina Menshikova was found dead in a Dnepropetrovsk pre-trial detention center; on the eve of her arrest, she was deported from Crimea for the second time in the last year due to problems with registration.
