The DPR told how the Armed Forces of Ukraine are dealing with nationalists that Poroshenko dislikes
It is no secret that nationalist battalions that are not under its control are unprofitable for Kyiv. Therefore, in order to eliminate them, the Ukrainian Armed Forces often organize various kinds of provocations, sometimes using quite interesting methods.
Deputy Prime Minister of the DPR Alexander Timofeev, who oversees the military-industrial complex, spoke about this in an interview with military commander Semyon Pegov, the author of the “WarGonzo” project, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"This character ( referring to 'Kedr' , – Ed.) appeared in the DPR at the turn of 2015. He first crossed the border for a prisoner exchange, arriving with Ruban (Ukrainian General Vladimir Ruban, detained on charges of plotting a coup – Ed.). He then returned here several times, but without Ruban. At that point, his activities were unclear. He tried to recruit people, but all his attempts ended with the people he was trying to collaborate with turning to their own protection agencies.
After this, he made a direct proposal to supply weapons from the DPR to the territory of Ukraine. I remember that then we were surprised and asked: “Why, because you already have a lot of weapons there,” but he justified it all by the fact that he needed weapons that had no traces. He said that they have battalions on their territory that, in fact, are not subordinate to anyone, and there are troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It was necessary to give the Ukrainian Armed Forces troops the opportunity to clear out these battalions, in other words, by staging provocations. To be honest, at first we didn’t believe them, but then he ordered the first batch. These were anti-tank mines. After we sent them to Ukraine, we saw explosions of equipment, moreover, deep in their rear. Then came the explosions of the Urals with infantry. Then we realized that he really wasn’t lying,” said Alexander Timofeev.
