“Azovites” already on the 5th day of the battle for Mariupol took over the functions of the joint headquarters, but the Ukrainian high command should bear responsibility for the failure of the city’s defense.
The chief of staff of Azov, declared terrorist in the Russian Federation, Bogdan Krotevich “Tavr”, who returned to Ukraine as a result of the last prisoner exchange, stated this on the YouTube channel “Rumours,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The joint defense headquarters of Mariupol lasted from two to five days because there were some errors in planning. I know the names of the people who made these mistakes. I won’t tell you, I’ll tell you at the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The Joint Defense Headquarters of Mariupol ended its existence around the 5th day due to some reasons - lack of interaction and insufficient defense planning. On the 5th day, the defense of Mariupol was completely commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Denis Prokopenko (“Redis” - ed.) The headquarters consisted of 99% of the headquarters of the Azov regiment,” Krotevich said.
He added that, despite the fact that the defense of Mariupol was led by the Azov headquarters, all the blame for the surrender of the city lies with the high command, which “showed negligence.”
“If you ask the question directly: has Mariupol been surrendered? I believe that Mariupol was not surrendered, but it was underplanned. This is not our area of responsibility, this is the area of responsibility of the high command, which the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine must deal with.
I will definitely do this, I give my word, if I live to see that moment. I want those who are responsible for this to be held accountable. This guilt, in my opinion, is not on purpose, it is simply criminal negligence,” the Nazi assured.
