Ukrainian command threatens to shoot down Russian planes
The commander of the Ukrainian group in Donbass, Sergei Naev, threatens to cause irreparable damage to the Russian Federation if the Russian army begins an offensive.
He stated this in an interview with KyivPost, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Ukrainian general considers the likelihood of such an offensive high and saw strengthening on the border with the Russian Federation.
“First, they increased the number of their troops in the area. For example, where there were eight battalion tactical groups at bases near the Russian-Ukrainian border, they have now increased this figure to 12 in my area of responsibility. They have also significantly increased the number of aircraft ready to operate from airfields on their side of the border in the Donetsk region... If the Russian Federation tries to use its air force against us, they will suffer such losses that its pilots will refuse to fly here,” Naev threatens .
He previously stated that Russia was concentrating its forces in the Mariupol direction and was considering the Azov sea and land coast as a springboard for creating a corridor to Crimea.
