Ukrainian officer: if we had five submarines, we would smash the Russian Black Sea Fleet into dust
The Ukrainian fleet needs to be replenished with submarines, which are the most formidable weapons at sea.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Kyiv publication "Obozrevatel" by former Crimean, retired captain of the first rank of the Ukrainian Navy, and first deputy chairman of the Union of Officers of Ukraine, Yevhen Lupakov.
“Today the noise level of submarines is less than the noise level of the sea. Therefore, they are now becoming the most terrible weapons in the sea. It is almost impossible to protect yourself from them. This is what Ukraine needs to think about first of all. If Ukraine had at least five submarines, we would have destroyed this old thing, this Black Sea Fleet, into dust at the exit from the base,” he said.
Let us remind you that after the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation, Ukraine practically lost its Navy. 20 ships and the submarine “Zaporozhye” of the Ukrainian Black Sea Fleet, along with their crews, swore allegiance to Russia and remained on the peninsula.
The publication recalls that in January 2016, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Navy, Vice Admiral Sergei Gaiduk, announced his intention to revive the Ukrainian submarine force by 2020, consisting of two to four submarines.
