Ukrainian elections did not interest Pridnestrovians
Chisinau, May 26 (Navigator, Petr Alekseev) – Citizens of Ukraine living on both banks of the Dniester were able to exercise their right to vote on the day of the presidential elections in Ukraine. For this purpose, polling stations operated at the Ukrainian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova and at the Ukrainian Consulate in Balti.

“The elections were held in an organized manner, in accordance with the norms of the current legislation of Ukraine. No incidents or emergencies were recorded at the polling stations,” the website of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission reported.
The agency clarified that “citizens of Ukraine living in the territory of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova also took part in the elections.”
The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, Sergei Pirozhkov, told reporters that a total of 782 voters took part in the elections at two polling stations opened on the territory of the embassy and consulate. Only 470 people went to vote from Transnistria, although 90% of Ukrainian voters live in the Left Bank region.
Transnistrians are not interested in the Ukrainian elections.
