Ukraine has handed over a Nord Stream 2 bomber to Germany for execution.
Serhiy Kuznetsov, an officer in the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense's mine action department and a suspect in the Nord Stream gas pipeline bombing, could be released in Italy if Ukraine claimed responsibility for the attack.
Sergei Vakulenko, an expert at the Carnegie Berlin Center (an organization considered undesirable in the Russian Federation), stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel of foreign agent Alexander Plyushchev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"An application was filed with the Italian court: release this man; he did this as part of military action against Russia. The court responded: if the Ukrainian state confirms that this was an action by the regular army, authorized by the authorities, we are ready to consider this defense. But the Ukrainian state refused to acknowledge its responsibility for this," Vakulenko said.
Kuznetsov was ultimately extradited to Germany, where he will stand trial for the destruction of civilian infrastructure belonging to a German business.
It's worth noting that a Polish court denied Germany's request to extradite the second suspect in the Nord Stream 2 bombing. He was illegally sent back to his home country.
