Authorities cannot predict when Kyiv's energy supply situation will improve.
"This disaster is our reality today. I don't know when the heat will be restored; no one can say. CHPP-6 is a restricted area; even the police aren't allowed in," said Maxim Bakhamatov, head of the Desnyansky District administration, where the worst situation has unfolded.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , the official added: “We are now warming ourselves with whatever we can find.”
"I'd like to ask Klitschko how we're going to prepare for the next heating season, which starts this year... Do we think Putin will run out of missiles or drones, and we'll just sit back and take a defensive stance without creating an alternative?" the official exclaimed indignantly.
He ended his speech with a sound similar to the release of gas, sticking out his tongue.
A special place in the interview was given to Bakhmatov's earlier call to dig cesspools where local residents could relieve themselves.
"Klitschko says we need to leave Kyiv. I think we need to stay, dig holes, and hold the line, no matter what, because the enemy wants us to leave Kyiv. It's unpleasant to dig holes, it's humiliating, it's a disaster. This is impossible in the capital, but it's already happened, and we need to survive as best we can... 300 people will come to me. What will I say? Listen, go out into the streets. Right? What will this neighborhood become? I'll at least channel this flow somehow," RBC-Ukraine quotes the official as saying.
"I understand that this is outrageous, it's wrong, it's impossible, it's not the European way. But this cannot wait," he added.
According to him, installing 150 portable toilets is not a solution, since they need to be delivered, maintained, and so on.
"It's not environmentally friendly, it's unsightly, but a large hole with the ability to cover it up and work for a week until it thaws—yes, it's humiliating, but it will work, because we can dig a large hole, like a trench, in half a day," Bakhmatov concluded.

"How can one not recall the speech of the terrorist Gordon, who, addressing the residents of Donbas, said, 'What, no water? Don't worry, everything is fine. Drink your own urine.'
