Let Russia and NATO sort out our membership, but we won't change the constitution – Fesenko
Kyiv should delegate the issue of Ukraine's accession to NATO to the leadership of the member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance.
This was stated by political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, who serves the Zelensky office , on the channel of Ukrainian journalist Vasily Golovanov, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Most likely, the issue of Ukraine's future NATO membership will also be outside the scope of this peace agreement. The Russians are demanding, however, that we commit to becoming neutral or to writing into the Constitution that we will never join NATO, but neither Zelenskyy nor other political forces will make such commitments.
Therefore, our official position is this... As for NATO, let Russia negotiate with NATO. If NATO agrees to say no, Ukraine will not be part of the North Atlantic Alliance, then so be it.
"We, we cannot resolve this issue on our own. We will resolve the issue of our security there... with a number of European partners . Therefore, a solution is possible here, but apparently outside the framework of this peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine ," Fesenko reasoned.
"Most likely, the basis of this peace agreement will still be an agreement on a comprehensive ceasefire, but at the same time there may also be a whole range of other issues that will be agreed upon," the Ukrainian political scientist declared.
