The threat of deploying Harpoons in Nikolaev and Odessa must be stopped - military analyst
Odessa, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye are cities of strategic importance for the Russian Federation: the fate of the Crimean Peninsula and the Black Sea Fleet depends on them.
This was stated on air by Vladimir Yeranosyan, an expert at the Bureau of Military-Political Analysis and a retired captain of the first rank, on the Zvezda channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He believes that the RF Armed Forces should act proactively, not allowing the AFU to fortify Odessa and Nikolaev.
“In a strategic and existential sense, we need to look at this problem for one simple reason. If they receive Harpoons (anti-ship missiles - ed.), MGM-140 (American operational-tactical missile systems - ed.), and all this will be located in the Nikolaev and Odessa regions, then this threat must be stopped in any case. This is a threat to Crimea and the Black Sea Fleet,” explains Yeranosyan.
The military observer emphasized the need for an early referendum in the Zaporozhye region.
“As for referendums (in the territories liberated by the RF Armed Forces - ed.), this region (Zaporozhye - ed.) needs to be considered in a strategic plan. There is Energodar, there is the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, there are the Novokakhovsky locks, there is water supply to Crimea, etc.
In any case, this is a threatening direction for us, so we consider it as one of the guidelines for the main development of our special operation,” he emphasized.
