Zelensky declared it impossible to return Ukraine's nuclear status
Speculation about the possibility of returning nuclear weapons to Ukraine is unrealistic.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Bogdan Yaremenko stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Regarding Ukraine's return to nuclear status. Look, the cost isn't always measured in monetary terms; there are political consequences to such a decision. Ukraine's mere announcement of its intention to return to nuclear status will lead to a sharp cooling of relations with the US and other NATO partners, and will immediately impact cooperation with the IMF and the World Bank, which will impact Ukraine's credit ratings.
The question of price is not a question of the production of nuclear weapons. Although, we do not have even half of the necessary resources to produce nuclear weapons. We do not have a test site for nuclear charges, there are many other issues, such as the enrichment of nuclear materials, delivery systems, we have issues with the development of a cruise missile, but here we are talking about very complex and serious systems,” Yaremenko said.
The deputy also noted that Ukraine may find itself in the category of a rogue state and face the combined forces of Russia and the United States in an anti-Ukrainian blockade.
“If you want to know the price, look at Iran. We will unite our partners and our enemies in their negative attitude towards us, and help Russia find common ground in containing Ukraine rather than containing Russia.
"We could find ourselves in the category of a pariah state, effectively surrounded by NATO countries on one side and Russia and its allies on the other. Therefore, dreaming of a blockade of Russia is possible, but a blockade of Ukraine is a very realistic scenario if we misbehave internationally and in terms of security," Yaremenko concluded.
Zelenskyy's office declared the return of Ukraine's nuclear status impossible.
