This was stated in an interview with the Ukrainian Week magazine by the head of the so-called Donetsk military-civil administration, Pavel Zhebrivsky, appointed by President Poroshenko. According to him, the key question for Ukraine regarding Donbass is: “How will we get there?”
The official claims that an offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbass is unlikely.
“Let's look at the latest riot in Lugansk. Russia introduced an additional battalion-tactical group and one company-tactical group into the “LPR” and placed them between Lugansk and the demarcation line. This was a clear signal to our army: if you go on the offensive, you will fight with Russia. Therefore, we must understand that in the event of an offensive, we lose international support and fight directly with Russia. With all the consequences,” Zhebrivsky said.
