This statement was released today by the press service of Pavel Klimkin’s department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was surprised to receive the statement of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation dated July 7, which contains groundless accusations against the Ukrainian and Moldovan sides, in particular, about the alleged blockade of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova,” the statement says.

According to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, in fact, the PMR “enjoys all the advantages of the CIS free trade zone regime and the free trade zone between Moldova and the European Union.” To support his thesis, Klimkin cites statistics on the export of products manufactured in Transnistria to Ukraine, which increased from $51 million in 2015 to $61 million in 2016 and continues to grow this year.

Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine “is completely rejected by the State Duma’s “concerns” due to the introduction of joint control at the Kuchurgan checkpoint.” After all, this decision confirms the validity of the legal field of the Republic of Moldova throughout the country. At the same time, Russia constantly declares its respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within internationally recognized borders,” the document says.

Let us recall, as PolitNavigator previously reported, on July 6, 2017, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to strengthen the security of the border with the PMR, where police and National Guard units are being transferred for this purpose.
