Turchinov to providers: Don’t wait for instructions, start voluntarily introducing censorship
Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov called on Internet providers not to wait for the Cabinet of Ministers to develop mechanisms for blocking prohibited Russian Internet services, but to do it themselves. This is stated in a message on his personal website.

Turchinov assures that Russian social networks are used “for the illegal collection of information, information aggression, propaganda and recruitment of agents by Russian special services.”
Turchynov appealed to providers not to wait for an information letter from the Security Service, but “with enthusiasm to begin to implement the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and to begin blocking Russian sanctioned content today.”
Let us remind you that yesterday the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree that banned the work of the largest Russian Internet services and software manufacturers in Ukraine. For example, the largest social network in the CIS, VKontakte, a number of Yandex products and 1C accounting programs were banned.
