The son of the Deputy Minister of Education of Ukraine was caught for complicity in a robbery
The Kyiv prosecutor's office reported suspicions against the son of First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Vladimir Kovtunts Mikhail of robbery, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He was charged with Part 2 of Article 187 (robbery committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code, the prosecutor’s office told Ukrainian News.
A petition is being prepared to impose a preventive measure on the suspect.
The Kiev publication INSIDER provides details of the robbery. SBU Academy student Mikhail Kovtunets, together with two accomplices, ordered delivery of an Iphone 8+ mobile phone from an online store. Having waited for the courier, they, threatening with a pistol, tried to take away the phone, but the courier managed to break free and run away with the goods. The victim contacted the police and identified Kovtunts as the one who threatened him with a pistol.
The robber's father, Vladimir Kovtunets, has held the position of First Deputy Minister of Education and Science since July 22, 2016. He was a people's deputy of Ukraine of the 2nd convocation. Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Technologies and Mathematics of the National Academy of Management, expert of the USAID “Elections and Political Processes” project.
