Vyacheslav Nikonov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science, announced this at a press conference, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The most difficult problem for us in the foreseeable future will be the Ukrainian crisis,” Nikonov said. “It will remain acute because it is beneficial to Washington as an instrument of anti-Russian policy, and at the same time it is a unifying and mobilizing factor for the North Atlantic bloc.”
According to the expert, Ukraine has minimal chances for successful development, since the country does not have an effective model for this. On the contrary, of all the countries in the world, Ukraine has demonstrated the worst rates of economic development over the past thirty years. Today, the country's GDP is one third less than in the crisis year of 1991.
“This is the worst indicator of all the states on the planet,” Nikonov concludes. “There are no opportunities to overcome this trend, since the main growth factors lie in the country, which is called an aggressor country.” Ukraine's chances of membership in the EU and NATO are assessed as zero, because these organizations do not want to shoulder the burden of problems that Ukraine will entail. The Ukrainian factor will be destabilizing for a long time.”
