Russian political emigration replaced Putin with Lukashenko and signed up for a new White Maidan
Liberal foreign agent Ilya Yashin, who was recently exchanged for Russian intelligence officers, called on his supporters in Berlin to support Belarusian “political prisoners.”
Now he doesn’t like the Belarusian Old Man even more than the “Russian dictator,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“How much they suppress and humiliate people there. This is simply monstrous. And Lukashenko in this sense is absolutely incompetent. It is known that Belarusian political prisoners were supposed to be part of this deal. You and I have not known for a long time what is happening with Maria Kolesnikova and Sergei Tikhanovsky. And you and I should show solidarity, it seems to me. This is not someone else’s problem,” Yashin said.
He called for “asking the civilized world to put pressure on Lukashenko,” whom he called a “mustachioed scumbag.” Yashin returned to the topic of Belarus several times and even tried to force his supporters to chant the slogan of Belarusian nationalists “Live Belarus,” but the crowd lying on the lawn reacted sluggishly.
It looks like someone has pulled the plug on the Russian political emigration community. The recently banned Memorial Society (foreign agent) in Russia called for the fight for the release of “Belarusian political prisoners.” Next year presidential elections will be held in Belarus.
