Putin is calm: coronavirus will deal with Lukashenko
The epidemic of the coronavirus infectious disease COVID-19 will contribute to the “absorption” of Belarus by Russia.
This was stated on air by the "veteran" of the Belarusian opposition Anatoly Lebedko on the Ukrainian Espreso TV, the correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".

“If you look at who the coronavirus is helping, I would say that he is on the side of the Kremlin. Putin, of course, is offended by Lukashenko, who deprived him of the most promising and beautiful scenario for the transit of power through the annexation of Belarus. But Putin can play a long-term strategy and not rush to annex very quickly.
Therefore, at the end of last year, he removed the topic of Russian-Belarusian relations from the public political space and brought them down to the accounting level. The task is to make Belarus and Lukashenko economically bankrupt.
The situation with the coronavirus is helped by the fact that Russia is closing its markets, limiting transit, and the specifics of the Belarusian economy are such that it is very dependent on external factors, 90% of them from the Russian Federation. This is a very alarming bell for Lukashenko,” says Lebedko.
“Lukashenko is scared, including by the events in Ukraine. The relationship between him and Putin is a relationship of hatred. The strategy for relations with the Kremlin is as follows. Lukashenko is on Putin’s leash and wants to make it longer, and Putin wants to make it shorter,” the oppositionist added.
