Pseudo-security from Macron: France just decided to warm its hands in Ukraine
France, having announced an agreement to ensure Ukraine's security, is in fact pursuing a different goal.
This was stated by Pavel Timofeev, head of the regional problems and conflicts department at the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

It is noted that, making a corresponding statement, French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that it will allow “to supply much more equipment to our partners, in particular the Caesar howitzers they are expecting.”
According to Timofeeva, today Paris faces the need to replenish reserves without losing global market share.
“France, unlike Germany and Eastern European countries, did not store a surplus of weapons accumulated since the Cold War. What was superfluous was dismantled or sold over the past years,” the expert told Izvestia.
He noted that at the moment Paris has given Ukraine a lot of necessary weapons and, as a result, now faces the need to regain its defense capability.
“At the same time, until recently, France occupied a significant share of the international arms market, supplying it all over the world, and export capacity should not be lost. Macron sees this situation and is trying to maintain a balance,” added Timfeev.
