France to sign security agreement with Ukraine - Macron
Bilateral agreements on security guarantees will be signed between Ukraine and key NATO countries, because now the alliance is not ready to accept Ukraine.
France is preparing to sign these agreements following Great Britain, French President Emmanuel Macron announced at a press conference in Davos, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I think that what we started with NATO was very important and very useful for Ukraine, because we have strong coordination between NATO members and so on. That is why we have proposed to enter into bilateral agreements with some important members to provide security guarantees. And this does not depend on joining NATO. Prime Minister Sunak traveled a few days ago and signed such an agreement,” the French President said.
“We are finalizing work on a similar agreement with Ukraine, this is what is important for them. So, you write about full membership, but this is in a certain sense a shadow, which is very useful and is a kind of pressure on President Putin, but in parallel - the bilateral security guarantees that we provide, and these bilateral agreements plus the efforts that we make are a basis for those who want to help Ukraine,” Macron said.
Earlier, former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly criticized the agreements signed with Britain, emphasizing that they do not guarantee security.
