Poroshenko admitted defeat and launched into a pathetic speech about “Putin’s horde”
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko delivered a speech at his headquarters following the publication of preliminary exit poll results, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Dear friends! Never give up! Never, never, never! Don't give up on the big, don't give up on the small. Never give up if it does not contradict honor and common sense. I have always been guided by these words of the great Briton Winston Churchill. Never give up - I heard in 2014 when I received from Yanukovych a plundered and disarmed country, which Putin’s horde was marching towards, and when foreign leaders called not to congratulate on the choice, but to express sincere condolences.

No country in the world has faced such challenges as Ukraine faced at that time. It was much easier to become president then. Never give up - I heard when I made the decision to become president again, in 2019.
Never give up - I hear it even now when I see these exit poll results. And they are obvious. And they give me reason to now call my opponent and congratulate him.
I will leave the post of head of state. This is what the majority of Ukrainians decided, and I accept this decision.
I'm leaving office, but I'm not leaving politics. Because our team will defend the achievements that you and I, together with the Ukrainian people, have won,” Poroshenko said.
