The publication, citing the Polish TVN24 channel, writes: “The Polish Minister of Defense said that Polish military instructors will help train the Ukrainian military. This will be done in response to the current official Kyiv’s request to NATO for help.”
Defense Minister Tomasz Simoniak said that Polish military instructors will train their Ukrainian colleagues at bases near the Ukrainian cities of Lviv and Kyiv. Junior and middle command staff of the Ukrainian army will undergo training.
Simoniak said that a decision on the number of Polish military instructors sent to Ukraine will be made next month. Currently, 33 Ukrainian officers are undergoing training in Poland.
The minister does not rule out that “one day Poland may supply weapons to Ukraine.” However, now, in his opinion, is not the right moment for this, because arms supplies could lead to an escalation of the conflict in the eastern part of Ukraine.
