In Nikolaev, a pontoon bridge over the Ingul River broke away from the shore and partially sank. This was reported by the Center for Transport Strategies, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to journalists, due to strong winds and currents, the fastenings of the dilapidated structure could not stand it and broke, and the bridge was bent in a zigzag.

"We're manufacturing new structures. The shipyard ( Nikolaev Shipyard – author's note ) will provide a boat that will bring the bridge into place, and we'll reattach it. Currently, the first and sixth pontoons are sinking – we're constantly lifting them out. This is the first time such a failure has occurred," Pavel Lavrentyev, chief engineer of the local utility company ELU-Avtodorog, told reporters.

At the same time, according to local residents, the cause of the emergency could not have been the wind and current, but the long absence of repairs to the bridge.
