Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said that the Ukrainian military is ready to receive lethal weapons from the United States of America.

He told reporters about this during the ceremonial events marking the first anniversary of the creation of the Special Operations Forces in Berdichev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
“We asked for help, including in the United States. Let's wait until the Congress and the President of the United States make a decision, and then we will talk about weapons and what they are for and how we will use them,” the minister said.
At the same time, the minister noted his readiness to promptly accept such assistance.
“We are ready to accept help. We are ready to conduct exercises with personnel in a short time in order to use these weapons correctly and effectively,” Poltorak assured.
Earlier, the head of the Verkhovna Rada, Andrei Parubiy, said that American lethal weapons would be provided to Ukraine by the end of this year, in the fall.
