German political scientist: If the Russians want Transnistria so much, let them take it for themselves

It’s time for Moldova to abandon Transnistria, which “hangs like a stone around its neck.”

“Moldova is an independent state. I would prefer to advocate the idea of ​​separation from Transnistria. Transnistria is so different from the Republic of Moldova, from the rest of Bessarabia!.. If the Russians want Transnistria for themselves, well, well, let them take it for themselves.

I don’t see what can force the Russians to leave Transnistria, to refuse to use this instrument that allows them to block the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union and NATO,” said Anneli Ute Gabani.
