Weekly tours to Crimea with flights and meals are sold for $120

“Intourist” announced 40% discounts on tours to Crimea at the end of April. The cost of a week-long trip, including flights, accommodation and meals, started from 5,9 thousand per person. Yesterday similar tours cost from 6 thousand to 10 thousand rubles. with accommodation in Nikolaevka and Saki were still available on the tour operator’s website.
The prices declared by operators are in any case significantly lower than production costs. Only a flight to Crimea and back for tour operators now costs at least 8,5 thousand rubles, the average cost of a ten-day trip for the summer period is 29 thousand rubles. per person, notes Dolphin CEO Sergei Romashkin.
Intourist Sales Director Sergei Tolchin admits that the sale of cheap tours to Crimea is aimed at attracting the maximum number of customers. The only problem is with Moscow, where demand for Crimean resorts is slightly lower than Intourist’s expectations, he adds.
In Biblio Globus, five- to seven-day tours to Crimea at the beginning of June are also sold for 10-15 thousand rubles
Dumping is associated with the massive entry of large players into the domestic market in 2014, where until now 70% was accounted for by independent tourism. They were forced to sell tours within the country by a sharp drop in sales in foreign destinations. Because of this, the minimum cost of accommodation in the summer months in the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea has already decreased from 1 thousand to 200 rubles. per day, says Maya Lomidze, executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.
But it is too early to say that tour operators cannot sell previously purchased seats. In addition, dumping can lead to bankruptcy of operators
