US Vice President Kamala Harris stated this at the Munich conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If Russia enters Ukraine, the United States, along with our partners and allies, will impose unprecedented economic costs on Russia,” she said, drawing a storm of applause from those in the room.
The American emphasized that in this case Washington is obliged to fulfill the promised economic measures against Russia.
“Our sanctions will be far-reaching. We will target the financial industry, we will target those who participated in this invasion. Rest assured: the application of these tough and coordinated sanctions will deal a huge blow. But we will not stop at economic measures; we will continue to strengthen our allied actions on the eastern flank.
We have already taken steps together to strengthen deterrence and strengthen collective defense. We have deployed six thousand American troops to Romania, Poland and Germany, eight and a half thousand troops in the United States have been put on combat readiness,” the Washington representative threatened.
However, she stated that no one would fight for Ukraine.
“As President Biden has said, our forces will not engage in combat inside Ukraine, but they will defend every inch of NATO territory,” Kamala Harris promised.
