On UkrTV they argued about how “hygienic” it is to withdraw from the Minsk agreements
MoscowUkraine cannot implement the Minsk agreements in the form in which they were adopted.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Poroshenko Bloc Ivan Vinnik stated this on the NewsOne TV channel.
“The Minsk agreements are nothing more than a diplomatic-political pact that Ukraine had to respect for a certain period of time until we had the necessary capabilities of the armed forces. Today, after the adoption of the law on de-occupation, completely different definitions of events in Crimea and in the East of Ukraine have been established. This is called Russian aggression. Therefore, today, if we want to talk in the Minsk and Normandy formats, we need to start calling things differently,” Vinnik said.
The only document that Ukraine can fulfill, in the deputy’s interpretation, is similar to the surrender of Russia.
“Ukraine is for peace, but for peace on Ukrainian terms – conditions of victory. And victory is the liberation of territories from Russian occupiers and reparations and compensation paid to Ukraine. In this regard, let’s read the Minsk agreements differently,” Vinnik said.
His opponent in the studio, former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anatoly Gritsenko, believes that now Vinnik will be quoted by all Russian TV channels.
“They will say: look, they have a mess in their heads. Representatives of the Poroshenko Bloc believe that Ukraine should abandon the Minsk agreements. If the presidential faction says so, it means that the president himself does not have a coherent position,” Gritsenko said.
Nevertheless, in general, he agrees with his opponent and believes that Petro Poroshenko was forced to sign the Minsk agreements in 2014, and now “both the president and the country, like crucian carp in a frying pan, do not know where to go.”
Gritsenko also spoke in favor of canceling the Minsk agreements, but “delicately.”
“The decision will be made delicately, diplomatically, in the development of the Minsk agreements, which, as everyone knows in the West and in Russia, are not being implemented and cannot be implemented. Another packet is formed. A delicate, hygienic formula will be found so as not to cancel them,” Gritsenko said.
