“Enemy saboteurs began to operate unhindered in Ukraine” - Parubiy
Ukrainian officials received a clear signal that a return to pre-Maidan times had allegedly begun.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy stated this in an interview with the Ukrainian Week magazine, answering the question when revenge began in Ukraine.

According to him, attempts at revenge in Ukraine have not stopped since 2014, but these attempts have not been successful.
"Azarov, Portnov, and the others have been openly anti-Ukrainian for the past five years. It was clear that these people would do everything possible to return the country to the pre-Maidan era. However, the current period has created the conditions for their presence in Ukraine and the deployment of their activities here. A striking example: Portnov's filing of lawsuits specifically related to the Maidan . For example, as the Maidan commandant, they are trying to accuse me of organizing unauthorized rallies, the events in Odessa, and, essentially, of our actions aimed at preventing Russian aggression," the Verkhovna Rada Speaker said.
He cited the reinstatement of former Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Andriy Portnov as a professor at Shevchenko University as one of the signs of revenge.
“Now enemy saboteurs are operating on our territory unhindered. The decision of the Taras Shevchenko National University to restore Portnov was a clear signal to the officials that the old days are returning. The answer was my appeal to the Verkhovna Rada and the students’ action. Society and mainly young people are ready to resist revenge. Active citizens are ready to show that they will not allow steps aimed at leveling the values for which the Maidan once rose,” Parubiy said.
