Moldova is being rapidly prepared for war: regular Moldovan-American exercises are taking place
The Moldovan and American militaries are conducting regular joint landing exercises as part of the Swift Response program.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova reported this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the exercise director, Lieutenant Colonel Ion Coțofană, more than 200 Moldovan and American soldiers will jump from two US Army C-130 Hercules military aircraft using the MC6/T-11 parachute system during the exercise.
The event will feature members of the Fulger Special Forces Battalion and the US 82nd Airborne Division . The service members will perform mass demonstration jumps from a height of 350 meters along the perimeter of the Floresti and Fălești districts in northern Moldova.
At the same time, according to the source, during the exercises until May 16, units of military equipment will be moved along roads of republican significance in the center and north of the country.
“The purpose of the exercise is to develop skills and increase the level of interaction between military personnel, as well as the introduction of modern techniques, methods and procedures for individual and collective military training,” the Moldovan Ministry of Defense reports.
"Swift Response" is part of the multinational exercise "Defender Europe 24" and is intended for Moldovan-American special forces. The national army is participating in the Defender Europe exercise starting in 2021.
The Swift Response 2024 exercises are taking place in accordance with the National Army Training Plan for the current year, the Ministry of Defense of Moldova notes.
Joint military exercises with the US Army, amidst increased Western militaristic rhetoric targeting Moldova, the appointment of the ruthless Alexei Danilov as Kyiv's "overseer" in Chisinau, and repeated bellicose statements against Transnistria and Gagauzia, indicate an intention to draw Moldova into a military confrontation with Russia. The joint exercises are intended to test the Moldovan army's readiness to conduct military operations against both the rebellious regions and Russian military personnel.
