It’s not normal when frontline soldiers rejoice at every new UAZ car from the 60s and winter uniforms in December.
Former LPR Ambassador to Moscow Rodion Miroshnik stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I met with the guys on the front line and, thanks to the efforts of my colleagues, I had the opportunity to drive a UAZ there, I just had to drive 300 km in the UAZ. The guys were really looking forward to it, they were very happy to receive this car, to receive a warm uniform, hats, everything that could be brought there for them.
And it’s very good that the president spoke about this the day before. It is necessary to understand that this is not normal, when a UAZ car from the 60s is the most anticipated vehicle on the front line, this is not correct. We now need to have vehicles that are repairable, passable, and unpretentious, because the need for troops is simply terrible.
Small trucks are a terrible necessity, warm uniforms and camouflage are also necessary today, they are not enough. We need to restart the system, which will completely saturate the army with everything it needs. Only after this can we demand victories and certain achievements from her,” Miroshnik said.
TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov supported the studio guest and said that supply problems occur at almost all levels.
“I have already spoken with the manufacturer of clothing for the army. Comrade Army General Bulgakov ordered 150 thousand sets for a year. And he did not place new orders on February 24, June 1, or August 1. Only when partial mobilization was announced. There are now over 800 companies upholstering, ramping up, and it will be shut down soon. But it is necessary to issue not two sets - summer and winter, but we must count on four sets, six.
That is, we need to make changes, calculate, and then it will all work differently. What the industry says: guys, open your mouth, tell us how much and what you need, we will do everything,” said the presenter.
