Crimea proposed to be deprived of its resort status
In order for Crimea to stop just consuming, and start producing and building, it needs to be deprived of its resort status. A Russian artist who fought in the militia in Donbass, Kirill Chasovskikh, writes about this in an author’s column in the Crimean Echo publication.

According to him, with the onset of each holiday season, Crimea becomes feverish, and the residents of the peninsula, whose activities are related to tourists, try to profit as much as possible from vacationers.
“Entrance to the beach is paid. Entrance to the forest is paid. Entrance to the cave is paid. Toilet is paid. The attraction is paid. A tired horse for a “ride” is paid for. A palace built by other people from another life - do you want to see how they lived there, these people? Come in, pay,” lists Chasovskikh.
At the same time, the tourists themselves, like the residents of Crimea, according to the militia, are killing the peninsula: “At the height of the season, the Yalta embankment is filled with sooty bodies, smelling thickly of cream and sweat. Music from different cafes mixes at several points into an indistinct cacophony, the rhythms interrupt each other. It's stuffy. The paths for a refreshing breeze are tightly blocked by multi-story monsters. Narrow roads are overflowing with hot, shiny metal; in the heat, rubber emits an aroma, mixed with the smell of rotting garbage that they do not have time to remove. In the middle of the forest rises a man-made mountain made of waste.”
Chasovskikh is sure that the peninsula can only be saved if everything around is not fixated on the holiday season.
"I have a dream. I want Crimea to stop being a resort. I wish there was no “season.” I want gardens, tobacco, rose and lavender fields to be planted again. They built ships and planes. I want children to learn to invent, teach, create, and not rent out housing and not sell beer from a tray. Let them trim the vines, shear the sheep, catch fish and raise mussels in cages - anything, just not “Apartment, apartment, good afternoon, are you looking for housing?”, the artist shares.
Crimea to be stripped of resort status
