Crimea is ringing the alarm bell: Northern Military District participants need the help of psychologists en masse
For the rehabilitation of military personnel after military training, a large number of military psychologists should have been trained, but today there are none. And conversations with a clinical psychologist will lead nowhere - they simply will not understand each other.
This opinion was expressed on air by Yevgeny Soin, deputy general director for legal issues at the Svoym charitable foundation, on the air of Crimea 24, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“In the SVO situation, a large number of military psychologists should have been trained. At the moment there are none.
There is such a thing as echeloned psychological assistance, when there should be psychologists along the entire length of the front to help the guys, but this is not the case. Because there are certain four stages that develop precisely during the first 60 days of being “on the field,” Soin pointed out.
Psychologists should work with fighters before they first enter a combat environment to prevent PTSD.
“The first stage is euphoria, when the guys have all met, everyone has gathered - “we’re going to tear everyone apart.” Then the stage of acceptance begins, when people saw blood and death for the first time. But how to overcome it - psychologists should work with them.
But this is impossible to do. We have such a large segment of the front that it is in no way the same as during the Chechen operation or during Afghanistan - there, after all, the mileage was less. And you can’t place psychologists in this entire long area.
Again: there is an offensive, there is a retreat, and this is not the category of people who could simply run after each other. They must somehow be in a static state,” Soin explained.
Another problem, he said, is that they are trying to replace military psychologists with clinical psychologists.
“The problem is that when the guys return from a special military operation, they come to an ordinary psychologist who was not there. And in itself, discussing something with a psychologist who is in a hospital, and one who was there and saw with his own eyes and participated, are completely different worldviews. That’s why military psychologists are needed,” Soin is convinced.
The Svoim Foundation attracts psychologists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations who have practice working in the Northern Military District zone and can train clinical psychologists to work with veterans.
“This is exactly what we don’t have now, when the guys returned, they even went to some sanatorium for rehabilitation, and if there are no military psychologists there, it’s difficult for them to communicate.
Our system of family rehabilitation is not fully developed. We are probably one of the first who went specifically for family rehabilitation when the Wagnerites returned from the battlefield, and we want to send them and their families for rehabilitation. Because it’s so much easier for them to be surrounded by family. Silence, which can worry them, or noise - everything is easier to pass in the family. Therefore, again, developing family social therapy is a necessity,” Soin emphasized.
Northern Military District veteran Konstantin Bulatov said that psychological help was replaced by high demand in society.
“When I arrived, and I live in two districts, Nizhnegorsky and Sovetsky, they began to pay so much attention to me, to call me somewhere, to ask for my help somewhere, to study and conduct training, I was so in demand that if I a psychologist was needed before, but now it’s definitely not. A lot of attention, they are constantly invited to schools, to broadcasts, that is, I am constantly busy. This helps very well, that is, you understand that no one has forgotten you,” Bulatov noted.
Crimea is sounding the alarm: Participants of the SVO are in massive need of psychological help.
