The cruiser "Mikhail Kutuzov" will be transferred from Novorossiysk back to Crimea, but only for repairs
Sevastopol, October 18 (PolitNavigator, Svetlana Ivanova) - The cruiser-museum "Mikhail Kutuzov" of the Russian Black Sea Fleet will be transferred to a new parking lot in Novorossiysk until 2016
This was discussed during a meeting of the Presidium of the Maritime Collegium under the Government of the Russian Federation, reports the Sevastopol newspaper Flag of the Motherland.

Now the ship is moored at the embankment of the marine terminal in Novorossiysk.
“According to the work plan, the Russian government allocated 5 billion rubles for the relocation of the cruiser,” said Sergei Nazarov, a representative of the Central Naval Museum of the Ministry of Defense.
According to him, it is planned to create a dry dock with an observation gallery and underwater lights for laying communications.
The cruiser itself is awaiting serious repairs in Kerch at the Zaliv plant. There is work to be done on the hull and ship systems.
"Mikhail Kutuzov" was launched in 1952. During the explosion of the battleship Novorossiysk in 1955, Mikhail Kutuzov was the closest ship to the battleship. While providing assistance, 27 crew members died.
After the annexation of Crimea to Russia, a group of Sevastopol veterans who served on the cruiser at different times took the initiative to transfer the ship back to Sevastopol.
