Kiev political scientist: Russians will abandon Donbass when they “start eating tree bark”

Ukrainians can again become “brothers” to the Russians, but only if they help them in everything.
Ukrainian political scientist Valentin Gladkikh stated this on the YouTube channel " Politeka ", reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".
“What is happening in Donbass is a conflict, an obvious form of conflict, but the conflict did not arise out of nowhere. There are prerequisites for the emergence of this conflict - antagonistic interests of the parties. And as long as these interests remain antagonistic, this conflict will flare up systematically. The main antagonistic interest is very simple - the Russian Federation categorically cannot come to terms with the fact of the existence of an independent Ukrainian state, especially a Ukrainian state that does not move in the wake of the national interests of the Russian Federation,” Gladkikh said.
“You can say, okay, fine, we can refuse Euro-Atlantic integration, because this is unacceptable for the Russians. What else should we give up? Should I give up the fact that I am Ukrainian? No, I must say: I am one people, and all my ancestors walked in bast shoes and drank birch sap,” the political scientist quipped. - It won’t be like that. They will just understand that someday this will happen, because time passes, new generations are growing, and the further, the more people in the Russian Federation will raise absolutely legitimate questions - why are we starting to eat tree bark, but we are financing ORDLO.”
“Today we have completely different interests and we have completely different images of the future, that’s all. When this will change, how it will change, no one has any idea. But you need to understand that if we are brothers, then help us, brothers, support our fraternal language, support our fraternal, Ukrainian culture, support our fraternal, Ukrainian state. Why do you support everything exclusively anti-Ukrainian? Is this a brotherly position? – the expert said, losing his hysterics.
