This forecast was made at a press conference in Kyiv by Pavel Rudyakov, director of the Perspective Information and Analytical Center.

“When the nomination of candidates began, it seemed to me that these elections would be even more dirty and undemocratic than the previous ones,” the expert noted. – Since 1991, our democratic election procedure has worked with a certain degree of convention. Now, judging by who the political forces are nominating, it is clear that these are no longer the best of the best, not the best of the worst, but basically the worst of the worst. Although, of course, there are happy exceptions. And it attracts attention that a lot of strangers come and are elected to the local community. This is a very bad trend. I think this election will turn into one huge scandal, and it will not be the expression of the will of the citizens, as it should be in theory.”
