The Kerch Bridge is getting closer: installation of the arches of the navigation span of the automobile part has begun

The installation of the navigable span of the automobile part of the Kerch Bridge has begun, and the first blocks of the ascending part of the arch have been assembled.

This was reported by the Novy Den news agency with reference to the Federal State Institution “Taman Federal Highway Administration”.

It is reported that 70% of the structures have now been installed. Work continues on the assembly of the railway part of the navigable arch span: 20 of the 38 blocks of the arch have been installed.

The automobile and railway shipping arches are the largest structures of the Kerch Bridge. They are assembled at the technological site in Kerch. In the summer it is planned to begin transporting the arches to the installation site.

Let us remind you that the first stage of the bridge - the road stage - is expected to open in December 2018, railway traffic will begin at the end of 2019.
