Karasev: Expensive gas killed “Euro-Atlantic solidarity”
German politicians are forced to provide their voters with energy resources, so they will one way or another strengthen relations with Russia.
Vadim Karasev, Director of the Institute of Global Strategies, announced this on the air of the Politek Online channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“No matter what they say about the West, governments there are sensitive to the opinions of voters. They are elected there. Yes, you can argue about some individual points there, but there are elections. If some burgher is freezing there, he will be cold, or his bills will be exorbitant, he will overthrow this power and install some kind of “Alternative for Germany”, which will immediately agree with Russia on longer deliveries and so on.
Now, after the elections there in Germany, the situation is quite interesting - how the configuration of the German elite will continue to change in terms of the east. This is also significant and interesting for us. This is precisely the crisis of collective Euro-Atlantic solidarity – “everyone for himself.”
This is called the transition to the era of national egoism. Egoism dominates, because when the mood of the era is “I don’t care about fat, I wish I was alive,” all these idealistic, romantic considerations lose their power and role.
