Unfortunately, Ukraine is hopelessly behind Russia, which achieved an economic miracle - fugitive liberal
Over the years of independence, Ukraine has not been able to even come close to the level of its GDP at the time of the collapse of the USSR. Russia performed an “economic miracle” and significantly increased its well-being.
This was stated on the air of the Ukraine 24 television channel by former adviser to the Russian president, and now a fierce critic of the Kremlin, economist Andrei Illarionov, who fled to the United States, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Unfortunately, very little has been done over the past 30 years. Ukraine is one of the slowest growing countries and economies in Europe. “It is one of the few, perhaps one of the last, in which GDP per capita in Europe has not yet reached the level of 1990,” Illarionov said and boasted that “during his work” in Russia it was possible to double the country’s GDP .
“The program that we implemented in Russia led to an economic miracle in Russia, to a doubling of GDP per capita in 10 years. And the income of the population and the real consumption of citizens in constant prices over ten years increased by 2,3 times. Never in the entire thousand-year history of Russia have there been such rates of economic growth in Russia,” he concluded.
