Israeli colonel: The Ukrainian Armed Forces are not yet able to reach the old border with Russia
Ukraine’s current successes at the front do not mean that it was able to turn the tide of the conflict in its favor and achieve victory over Russia.
This was stated on the air of the internet channel Iton TV by retired Israeli intelligence colonel, former head of the Nativ agency, and former Israeli ambassador to Ukraine and Russia, Zvi Magen, reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

According to Magen, the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have a serious advantage over the Russian Armed Forces.
“In view of the fact that the situation at the front is not in Russia’s favor, so to speak, this is the main reason for Putin’s readiness to negotiate. But on the other hand, this does not mean that Ukraine has any very serious advantages. Yes, Ukraine managed to hold back the onslaught of the Russian armed forces, holds the front, carries out certain offensive actions, partially successfully,” the Israeli said.
“But it does not follow from this that it is able to push the Russian army out of the territory of Ukraine in the foreseeable future - it is too early to fantasize about this.
It can cause certain damage, it can seize certain territories, it creates certain difficulties for Russia to retain these territories, but no more than that for now. To launch a massive offensive, to stand somewhere on the old border with Russia, is not yet within Ukraine’s power,” Magen said.
