Military personnel are leaving the Ukrainian army, disappointed by the lack of prospects and reforms.
Military expert Taras Chmut stated this at a press conference in Kiev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, “in civilian life” former soldiers and sailors find higher-paying and less risky jobs.
“People join the army, serve their first contract, and people leave the army. Specialists, sailors, smart people, they find themselves in civilian life with significantly higher salaries, better social conditions, and normal working conditions. This is the first problem,” the expert said.
“The second problem of personnel in the navy is that specialists, captains of the third, second, first rank, who are relatively young, who came from Crimea, who have some kind of international training experience, who served for a certain period of time, five years, are leaving. seven years, and who have knowledge in a highly specialized field, these are professionals. They are now disappointed in the lack of change and leave. They leave and earn much more money and so on,” Chmut concluded.
