Mr. Cherny shared the relevant information on his page on the social network Facebook.
“I applied for registration as a candidate for mayor. Just so they don’t say later that there was no choice. I’ll say right away: I won’t play the role of a technical candidate for cutting votes, because if measurements a week before the elections show a clearly unfavorable result, then I’ll withdraw,” Cherny wrote.
Let us note that Cherny is being a little disingenuous, since in 2012, at the parliamentary elections, he was the technical candidate of Igor Markov as opposed to the “regional” Alexei Goncharenko in the 133rd electoral district of the city of Odessa.
As Navigator reported, the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader wanted to become a candidate for mayor.
In addition, more than one person is vying for the post of mayor of Odessa. Among them are people’s deputies Gennady Trukhanov (Patia of Regions), Eduard Gurvits (UDAR), Pavel Kirilenko (Svoboda), former governor of the Odessa region Vasily Tsushko, leader of the local Anti-Maidan Alexey Albu and others.
