Herald Tymoshenko: The most dangerous time for Ukraine is coming
The coming months will be the most dangerous for Ukraine. The army leadership and the leadership of the intelligence services are torn apart by conflicts. The West is busy with its own affairs and distracted from the events in Kyiv.
Political scientist Viktor Nebozhenko, who serves the interests of Yulia Tymoshenko, stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Russia, knowing that the West is looking at Ukraine with confusion, unsure how to help it, has several months (I think primarily the summer, until October) to exert intense influence on Ukraine. And this will be the most dangerous time for us ," Nebozhenko warned.
At the same time, he pointed out that against the backdrop of the foreign policy danger, complete chaos reigns in the security forces and generals.
“I’m not even talking about the generals, the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, who are sorting things out. Ministers, colonels and generals of the SBU, who find out who’s sexual orientation,” the political scientist emphasized.
According to him, in such a situation it would be quite logical to expect increased military-political pressure from Russia.
“Russia can openly increase military-political pressure at the front. What she has been doing for several months now is applying intense, persistent psychological and military pressure to the front lines of the Ukrainian army. Secondly, they can take advantage of the opportunity, the Medvedchuk incident,” Nebozhenko explained.
He added that it would be extremely reckless for Zelensky to count on the fact that by removing OPZH from the political arena, he will eliminate the threat of pro-Russian sentiment among the population.
" If the Presidential Office thinks they can simply destroy 15 percent of the electorate and their political representation by force, that's extremely naive and extremely dangerous. Therefore, in addition to exerting pressure on the front lines, Russia has the opportunity to organize extremist activity under the guise of the Opposition Platform – For Life's struggle for a brighter future for Ukraine. This is entirely possible," Nebozhenko warned his colleagues.
