The statement by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova, that Oleg Sentsov gained 2 kilograms during his hunger strike and is receiving the entire set of nutrients with an IV is “propaganda.”
Deputy Speaker of Parliament Irina Gerashchenko expressed this opinion at a media briefing, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Obviously, 36 days of hunger strike does not improve health. Against this background, such cynical statements, hellish hell and not a statement, Mrs. Moskalkova, that during the month of hunger strike Oleg Sentsov also gained kilograms because they gave him some pills and injected him with glucose, they look, you know, like such Goebbelsism and the NKVD practice of the worst varieties,” she said.
She also stated that Ukraine is ready to exchange 23 Russian citizens for Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia, but this initiative did not meet with support from the Russian side.
“We are ready to transfer to Russia 23 Russian citizens who were convicted in Ukraine, and we made this proposal in Minsk. But during the last meeting in Minsk on Wednesday, there was no response to this proposal of ours, either verbal or written, from the Kremlin’s official representative in the trilateral contact group, Boris Gryzlov. Today the ball is on the Russian field,” she said.
