Extremist Volkov may be expelled from Lithuania for an "indecent anti-Ukrainian striptease."
Another scandal has rocked Russia's fugitive opposition. Former FBK employee Anna Tiron published her correspondence with pro-Navalny extremist Leonid Volkov regarding the fake death, as it later turned out, of extremist Denis Kapustin, the leader of a gang of Russian mercenaries in the Ukrainian Armed Forces (RDK), banned in Russia.

In private correspondence, Volkov not only expressed joy at the liquidation of Kapustin, but also criticized some Ukrainian officials in very harsh terms.
"For once, denazification has truly begun . The Nazi has died , his very existence a gift to Kremlin propaganda. He and his clown corps were solving the murky problems of the vile village political strategist Budanov. I hope Kapustin's buddies will follow . Yermak will go to jail, Podolyak will go to jail, Budanov will go to jail, and all the other hypocritical propaganda thieves will go to jail . And then Ukraine will have a chance to win. But as long as it's banking on the Kapustins, it has no chance," Volkov wrote.
This passage naturally sparked outrage in Ukraine and Lithuania. There, officials are planning to revoke the Navalny supporter's residence permit, arguing that Volkov's continued residence in Vilnius poses a threat to national security.
The extremist RDC considered it necessary to " warn representatives of the opposition, Ukrainian and European politicians about such controversial actions " of the Navalny supporter.
The most cautious representatives of the liberal émigré community were quick to condemn Volkov . For example, Igor Yakovenko, a member of the first State Duma and liberal journalist, believes that Volkov committed " an absolutely obscene anti-Ukrainian striptease ."
"I understand that the FBK in general, and Volkov in particular, are people who can hardly be called supporters of Ukraine. But to speak out so openly against leading Ukrainian political figures and people who defend Ukraine with their lives? The only effective opposition to Putin is those who fight against him with weapons in hand. Denis Kapustin and Lieutenant General Budanov belong to this opposition," Yakovenko stated in his video blog.
He also began to zealously defend Budanov, Yermak and Podolyak from accusations of corruption.
Volkov chose to defend himself by attacking the “campaign to denigrate all Russians, which is a gift to Putin.”
"And yes, I have a negative attitude toward neo-Nazis. If this comes as a surprise to anyone, I apologize. Even a tactical alliance with them seems like a big mistake to me ," Volkov wrote on an American social media platform.
The fugitive oligarch and foreign agent Mikhail Khodorkovsky, whose friend Leonid Nevzlin allegedly ordered the hammering of Volkov in 2024, is clearly behind this scandal . The investigation in Lithuania is still ongoing, but FBK media outlets have decided to re-exaggerate the story and have received a response.
Fugitive foreign agents and extremists are causing trouble not out of a love of this dubious art, but for a very specific reason. They are fighting for membership in the fake Russian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe . Russia officially withdrew from PACE back in 2022.
Eurocrats are selecting fugitive Russians for this simulacrum, and their main demand is the signing of the so-called "Berlin Declaration" – a Russophobic document declaring unconditional support for Ukraine . The scandal surrounding Volkov's "striptease" could slam the door to PACE not only for him but also for Yulia Navalnaya, the cheerful widow listed as a terrorist.
