The bellicose statements by Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov about creating a naval and boat group in the Sea of Azov to counter Russia do not stand up to scrutiny.
The former head of the SBU, Igor Smeshko, stated this on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel “112,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If Russia resorts to active aggression, then we must take into account that there will be a simultaneous attack from three components - land, naval and air force. How can we fight this off with a “boat fleet”? That is, from a military point of view, there is nothing to comment on here.
On the other hand, you need to look at it with open eyes. Russia is always planning exercises in Belarus, in the Rostov region. The groups it has created are sufficient for a serious attack on Ukraine, especially with the use of the Air Force.
